Unit 361 is a sanctioned unit of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), serving metropolitan Denver and the surrounding area.

The Unit works to manage bridge tournaments in the Denver Metropolitan area, to promote education of Unit Members, and to provide assistance and information to local bridge clubs and teachers.

Tournaments

The Unit generally manages four sectional tournaments a year, usually in early January, March, July, and November.

The Unit also manages two Intermediate/Novice (I/N) or 299er limited tournaments. These are intended for newer or less-experienced players. These I/N tournaments are usually held in April and in October.

In addition to managing several open and limited sectionals every year, Denver Bridge works with District 17 of the ACBL to hold the Denver Rocky Mountain Regional. This week-long tournament features a number of events and usually takes place the week ending on Memorial Day. While it attracts a large number of top players, there are events appropriate for all levels of play. For the last several years, the Regional has boasted the largest Pro/Am event in the country – allowing a newer player to be paired with a more experienced player, then to compete against other Pro/Am pairings.

Members

Any ACBL member residing within the Denver Unit boundaries is automatically a member of the Unit.

The Unit works to provide information and educational opportunities to these members.

Clubs and Educators

There are a number of bridge clubs in the Denver area offering regular duplicate bridge games (both ACBL sanctioned and non-sanctioned games). Likewise, the Denver area has many people who offer varying levels of instruction in the game.

The Unit works with these Clubs and Educators by providing contact information to the public, by promoting games, classes and other events and by acting as a liaison to the ACBL.
